      EMANUEL...TREUTLEN...WHEELER...MONTGOMERY AND TOOMBS

    - ABOUT 300 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF COLUMBUS GA OR ABOUT 250
      MILES SOUTHEAST OF MACON GA

    - STORM INTENSITY 110 MPH
    - MOVEMENT NORTH OR 360 DEGREES AT 12 MPH

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

DANGEROUS MAJOR HURRICANE MATTHEW WILL CONTINUE TO TRACK ALONG
THE GEORGIA COAST TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING. TROPICAL
STORM FORCE WINDS WILL SPREAD INLAND AND COULD BRING WIND GUSTS
OF 40 TO 50 MPH IN AND AROUND THE TROPICAL STORM WARNING AREA
TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY. ALL INTERESTS ACROSS PARTS OF EAST
CENTRAL GEORGIA...ESPECIALLY ALONG AND EAST OF AN ALAMO TO
SWAINSBORO LINE...SHOULD PREPARE FOR HAZARDOUS WINDS FRIDAY
THROUGH SATURDAY. THERE IS ALSO A HEAVY RAIN THREAT OVER THIS SAME
AREA WITH 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL EXPECTED... AND ISOLATED
HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE...THROUGH SATURDAY. THESE RAINFALL AMOUNTS
WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING LIFE THREATENING FLASH
FLOODING...ESPECIALLY ALONG FLOOD PRONE CREEKS AND RIVERS.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS
-----------------

* WIND: POTENTIAL IMPACTS FROM THE MAIN WIND EVENT ARE NOW
  UNFOLDING ACROSS PARTS OF EAST
CENTRAL GEORGIA. POTENTIAL IMPACTS INCLUDE:
    - DAMAGE TO PORCHES, AWNINGS, CARPORTS, SHEDS, AND UNANCHORED
      MOBILE HOMES. UNSECURED LIGHTWEIGHT OBJECTS BLOWN ABOUT.
    - MANY LARGE TREE LIMBS BROKEN OFF. A FEW TREES SNAPPED OR
      UPROOTED, BUT WITH GREATER NUMBERS IN PLACES WHERE TREES ARE
      SHALLOW ROOTED. SOME FENCES AND ROADWAY SIGNS BLOWN OVER.
    - A FEW ROADS IMPASSABLE FROM DEBRIS, PARTICULARLY WITHIN URBAN
      OR HEAVILY WOODED PLACES. HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS ON
      BRIDGES AND OTHER ELEVATED ROADWAYS.
    - SCATTERED POWER AND COMMUNICATIONS OUTAGES.

ELSEWHERE ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA, LITTLE TO NO IMPACT IS
ANTICIPATED.

* FLOODING RAIN:
PROTECT AGAINST LOCALLY HAZARDOUS RAINFALL FLOODING HAVING POSSIBLE
LIMITED IMPACTS ACROSS PORTIONS OF EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA. POTENTIAL
IMPACTS INCLUDE:
    - LOCALIZED RAINFALL FLOODING MAY PROMPT A FEW EVACUATIONS.
    - RIVERS AND TRIBUTARIES MAY QUICKLY RISE WITH SWIFTER CURRENTS.
      SMALL STREAMS, CREEKS, CANALS, ARROYOS, AND DITCHES MAY BECOME
      SWOLLEN AND OVERFLOW IN SPOTS.
    - FLOOD WATERS CAN ENTER A FEW STRUCTURES, ESPECIALLY IN USUALLY
      VULNERABLE SPOTS. A FEW PLACES WHERE RAPID PONDING OF WATER
      OCCURS AT UNDERPASSES, LOW-LYING SPOTS, AND POOR DRAINAGE
      AREAS. SEVERAL STORM DRAINS AND RETENTION PONDS BECOME
      NEAR-FULL AND BEGIN TO OVERFLOW. SOME BRIEF ROAD AND BRIDGE
      CLOSURES.

ELSEWHERE ACROSS NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA, LITTLE TO NO IMPACT IS
ANTICIPATED.

DETOURS.
