FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...
THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL
STORM JEANNE...LOCATED NEAR OR OVER GREAT INAGUA ISLAND IN THE
BAHAMAS...AND ON HURRICANE KARL...LOCATED ABOUT 1020 MILES WEST OF
THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.
SATELLITE IMAGES INDICATE THAT THE SHOWER ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH
AN AREA LOW PRESSURE CENTERED ABOUT 250 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE CAPE
VERDE ISLANDS IS BECOMING BETTER ORGANIZED. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR
TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS THE SYSTEM
MOVES SLOWLY WESTWARD.
THE REMNANTS OF IVAN ARE OVER NEW JERSEY. INFORMATION ON THIS
SYSTEM CAN BE FOUND IN PUBLIC ADVISORIES ISSUED BY THE
HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL PREDICTION CENTER UNDER WMO HEADER WTNT34 KWNH
AND AWIPS HEADER TCPAT4.
ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
SUNDAY.
