Tropical Weather Discussion for North America, Central America
Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, northern sections of South
America, and Atlantic Ocean to the African coast from the
Equator to 32N. The following information is based on satellite
imagery, weather observations, radar and meteorological analysis.

Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through
0500 UTC.

...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ...

The monsoon trough passes through the coastal sections of Liberia
near 06N10W, to 04N14W. The ITCZ continues from 04N14W to 02N30W,
to the Equator along 35W/36W, to 01N45W. Precipitation:
widely scattered moderate to isolated strong is within 180 nm to
the north of the ITCZ between 16W and 35W. Isolated moderate to
locally strong is elsewhere from 10N southward from 60W eastward.

GULF OF MEXICO...

Broad surface anticyclonic wind flow spans the Gulf of Mexico.
A 1015 mb high pressure center is near 24N85W. Broad upper level
anticyclonic wind flow covers the Gulf of Mexico. The GFS model
for 250 mb and satellite imagery show an upper level cyclonic
circulation center in the SW corner of the Gulf of Mexico.

Fair skies, and some visibilities generally ranging from 4 miles
to 6 miles are being reported at some of the offshore oil
platforms that are in the north central and northwestern sections
of the Gulf of Mexico.

High pressure will prevail through early Thursday. A weak frontal
trough will sink S into the NE Gulf coastal waters on Thursday
morning, before dissipating on Thursday night. High pressure will
build across the NE Gulf of Mexico from Friday through Saturday. A
cold front will move into the western Gulf of Mexico on Saturday
night. Expect a modest increase in the wind speeds and the sea
heights behind the front. The front will stall and dissipate in
the northern Gulf of Mexico on Sunday.

CARIBBEAN SEA...

An upper level trough cuts across Hispaniola, toward central
sections of Nicaragua. A surface trough is along 62W/63W from 20N
southward to the coast of Venezuela. Precipitation: Rainshowers
are possible from 13N northward, in broken low level clouds.
24-hour rainfall totals that are listed for the period that ended
at 26/0000 UTC, according to the PAN AMERICAN TEMPERATURE AND
PRECIPITATION TABLES, MIATPTPAN/SXCA01 KNHC, are: 0.05 in Curacao.

High pressure across the W Atlantic Ocean will maintain fresh
to strong trade winds in the south central Caribbean Sea. Minimal
gale-force winds are possible on Friday night, on Saturday night,
and on Sunday night. Fresh to locally strong winds will pulse
each night in the Gulf of Honduras.

ATLANTIC OCEAN...

A cold front passes through 32N73W to 31N76W, and to the coast of
SE Georgia near 31N81W. A stationary front continues from the
coast inland, beyond SW Georgia. Precipitation: isolated to widely
scattered moderate from 30N northward between 66W and 73W.
Rainshowers are possible elsewhere from 30N northward from Bermuda
westward. 24-hour rainfall totals that are listed for the period
that ended at 26/0000 UTC, according to the PAN AMERICAN
TEMPERATURE AND PRECIPITATION TABLES, MIATPTPAN/SXCA01 KNHC, are:
0.17 in Bermuda.

A stationary front passes through 32N25W, to 31N28W. A dissipating
stationary front continues in the central Atlantic Ocean, from
31N28W to 28N36W and to 30N42W. Precipitation: rainshowers are
possible from 24N northward between 30W and 44W.

Broad upper level cyclonic wind flow covers the Atlantic Ocean
from 15N northward from 40W eastward. An upper level cyclonic
circulation center is near 26N28W. Precipitation: isolated
moderate from 25N northward from 30W eastward.

Weak high pressure ridge along 25N will prevail tonight. A cold
front will move SE across the waters that are to the north of 22N,
from late tonight through Friday night. Associated northerly
swell will propagate across the northern waters from Thursday
night through Friday night. High pressure will build across the
northern waters in the wake of the front late on Friday, and
prevail through Sunday. A cold front will move into the northern
waters on Monday.
