Tropical Weather Discussion for North America, Central America
Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, northern sections of South
America, and Atlantic Ocean to the African coast from the
Equator to 32N. The following information is based on satellite
imagery, weather observations, radar and meteorological analysis.

Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through
0540 UTC.

...TROPICAL WAVES...

An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 19W/20W from 21N
southward. Isolated moderate rainshowers are from 05N to 11N
from 22W eastward.

An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 18N41W 10N43W 04N43W.
Isolated moderate rainshowers are from 10N between 40W and 45W.

An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 26N46W 16N49W 05N50W.
Isolated moderate rainshowers are from 02N to 13N between 45W
and 50W.

A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 67W/68W from 20N
southward. Rainshowers are possible from 14N to 18N between 63W
and 69W.

A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 84W/85W from 21N
southward. Isolated moderate rainshowers cover the area that
extends from Costa Rica northward into the far NW corner of the
Caribbean Sea from 80W westward. A 500 mb inverted trough also
is in the area of the tropical wave.

...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ...

The monsoon trough extends from the coast of Mauritania near
18N16W to 14N20W and 09N32W. The ITCZ extends from 09N32W to
08N38W, to 09N43W to NW coastal French Guiana. Other rainshowers
are possible, from 11N southward, from 60W eastward, not
counting the precipitation that is accompanying each tropical
wave.

GULF OF MEXICO...

An upper-level trough extends from the SW corner of Florida to
the Yucatan Peninsula, to 26N100W in Mexico. Isolated moderate
rainshowers are from 90W eastward, and from 20N southward in the
SW corner of the Gulf of Mexico.

A ridge will remain along the northern Gulf of Mexico coast
through Monday, and then shift S in the central Gulf of Mexico
on Tuesday. Gentle to moderate E to SE winds will continue
across most of the basin, except for fresh winds NW of the
Yucatan Peninsula each night through Wednesday night.

CARIBBEAN SEA...

An upper level trough is along 12N73W to 15N74W, to 20N79W near
the Caribbean Sea coastal areas of Cuba. Isolated moderate
rainshowers cover the NW corner of the Caribbean Sea, from the
Windward Passage westward and northwestward.

The monsoon trough is along 08N/09N between 75W in Colombia,
beyond 84W in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Scattered moderate to
isolated strong rainshowers are within a 30 nm radius of 11N83W.
Rainshowers are possible elsewhere from 12N southward from 77W
westward.

High pressure to the north of the area will support fresh to
strong trade winds in the central Caribbean Sea through the
middle of next week. The winds will pulse to near gale force
each night along the N coast of Colombia through Sunday night.
Fresh easterly winds will pulse in the Gulf of Honduras each
night through the weekend.

ATLANTIC OCEAN...

A surface trough is along 28N64W 25N65W 22N65W. Isolated
moderate rainshowers are from 22N to 28N between 60W and 68W.
An upper level trough is along 24N68W to 28N70W to 28N72W and to
26N80W. Isolated moderate rainshowers are from 17N northward
between 70W and the U.S.A. east coast.

A ridge aligned along 29N/30N will maintain gentle to moderate
east to southeast winds through Wednesday night. Fresh to
occasionally strong E winds will pulse N of Hispaniola each
night through the middle of the next week.
