WEDNESDAY...FOLLOWED BY A TURN TO THE NORTHWEST WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
HURRICANE MATTHEW IS EXPECTED TO MOVE NEAR OR OVER PORTIONS OF THE
SOUTHEASTERN AND CENTRAL BAHAMAS TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY...AND
APPROACH THE NORTHWESTERN BAHAMAS WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

SUSTAINED NORTHWEST TO NORTH WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH...WITH GUSTS NEAR
35 MPH...ARE LIKELY IN THE UPPER AND MIDDLE KEYS WEDNESDAY NIGHT
THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT. SUSTAINED TROPICAL FORCE WINDS WINDS ARE
POSSIBLE IN THE UPPER AND MIDDLE KEYS...STARTING AS EARLY AS
WEDNESDAY NIGHT. POTENTIAL IMPACTS IN THIS AREA INCLUDE:
- UNSECURED LIGHTWEIGHT OBJECTS BECOME DANGEROUS PROJECTILES.
- SCATTERED POWER AND COMMUNICATIONS OUTAGES.
* SURGE:
LOCALIZED STORM SURGE POSSIBLE IN THE FLORIDA KEYS WEDNESDAY EVENING
THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY. POTENTIAL IMPACTS IN THIS AREA INCLUDE:
- LOCALIZED INUNDATION WITH STORM SURGE FLOODING OF AROUND 1 FOOT
MAINLY ALONG IMMEDIATE SHORELINES AND IN LOW-LYING SPOTS.
