AT 14 MPH. STORM INTENSITY WAS 135 MPH.

INLAND FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED TO BE AN ISSUE AS HURRICANE EARL
PASSES BY NORTH CAROLINA. ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN ARE POSSIBLE
IN EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. HIGHEST RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL BE ALONG
THE OUTER BANKS.

...COASTAL HAZARDS...
THERE WILL BE A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS STARTING WEDNESDAY
MORNING ALONG AREA BEACHES. BEACH GOERS ARE URGED TO STAY OUT OF
THE WATER. BREAKING WAVES WILL REACH UP TO 15 FEET ALONG THE OUTER
BANKS AT THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM.
