BROWNSVILLE TEXAS. THE MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE WAS 972 MILLIBARS.
EMILY IS MOVING WEST NORTHWEST NEAR 14 MPH AND A GRADUAL TURN
TOWARD THE WEST IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS. GIVEN THIS

SOUTH AND EAST FACING SHORES OF SOUTH PADRE ISLAND.

90 MPH. EMILY IS EXPECTED TO STRENGTHEN TO A CATEGORY 2 HURRICANE
LATER TODAY AS IT MOVES WEST NORTHWEST ACROSS THE WESTERN GULF OF
MEXICO. THE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE ALONG THE LOWER
TEXAS COASTAL WATERS TODAY AND TONIGHT. SUSTAINED WINDS NEAR TROPICAL
STORM FORCE ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE LOWER TEXAS COASTAL AREAS WITH
WIND GUSTS TO HURRICANE FORCE POSSIBLE SOUTH OF PORT MANSFIELD THIS
EVENING AND EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

THE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS WILL BE HIGH TODAY AS EMILY APPROACHES.
WAVES WILL INCREASE TO 12 TO 15 FEET OFFSHORE TODAY WITH WAVES UP TO

WEDNESDAY. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 5 TO 10 INCHES ARE EXPECTED OVER DEEP
