NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL
STORM KATRINA...LOCATED INLAND NEAR COLUMBUS MISSISSIPPI.

A BROAD AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL
DEPRESSION THIRTEEN...ARE CENTERED SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES NORTHEAST
OF THE LEEWARD ISLANDS.  THIS SYSTEM REMAINS DISORGANIZED BUT WILL
BE MONITORED FOR SIGNS OF RE-DEVELOPMENT.

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS LOCATED ABOUT 750 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF
THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS.  THIS SYSTEM HAS NOT BECOME ANY BETTER
ORGANIZED THIS EVENING BUT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME A TROPICAL
DEPRESSION DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO AS IT MOVES TO THE
WEST-NORTHWEST.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
WEDNESDAY.
