...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
RESIDENTS OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AND COASTAL AREAS OF SOUTH CAROLINA
SHOULD EXPECT MINIMAL TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS TODAY...MAINLY IN
GUSTS. BE SURE THAT LOOSE OUTDOOR OBJECTS ARE SECURED OR BROUGHT
INSIDE. POWER OUTAGES ARE ALSO POSSIBLE TODAY.
...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
ASTRONOMICAL HIGH TIDES THIS EVENING COMBINED WITH STRONG EAST AND
SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF COASTAL FLOODING AND
BEACH EROSION ALONG THE GEORGIA AND SOUTH CAROLINA COASTS. AT
PRESENT...TIDES ARE RUNNING ABOUT ONE TO TWO FEET ABOVE PREDICTED
LEVELS. WATER COULD BRIEFLY OVERTOP ROADS IN THE NORMAL PLACES THAT
ARE SUBJECT TO SHALLOW COASTAL FLOODING. HIGH TIDE FOR THE SAVANNAH
RIVER ENTRANCE IS 814 PM THIS EVENING AND 807 PM IN CHARLESTON
HARBOR. RESIDENTS SHOULD EXPECT WATER LEVELS ON THE BEACHES TO
INCREASE WITH WATER UP TO THE DUNES IN MANY LOCATIONS. MODERATE
BEACH EROSION WAS REPORTED EARLIER ON TYBEE ISLAND AND IS STILL
POSSIBLE INTO THE EVENING HOURS FOR THE AFFECTED AREAS.
...WIND IMPACTS...
WINDS ALONG THE GEORGIA AND SOUTH CAROLINA COASTS AT MIDDAY ARE
BETWEEN 20 AND 30 MPH WITH A FEW HIGHER GUSTS TO AROUND 40 MPH.
SAVANNAH AIRPORT HAS REPORTED WINDS 27 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 39 MPH AND
BUOY 41008 REPORTED WINDS 33 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH. SUSTAINED
WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO NEAR 50 MPH ARE STILL POSSIBLE
FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS...MAINLY IN SQUALLS. SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF
20 TO 35 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED OVER INLAND AREAS OF GEORGIA WITH SPEEDS
OF 20 TO 30 MPH EXPECTED OVER INLAND SOUTH CAROLINA. GUSTS TO NEAR 50
MPH ARE POSSIBLE MAINLY IN HEAVY SQUALLS.
...SEAS AND RIP CURRENTS...
SEAS WILL CONTINUE TO BE ROUGH ACROSS THE GEORGIA AND SOUTH CAROLINA
COASTAL WATERS TODAY. LARGE BREAKERS OF 5 TO 9 FEET CAN BE EXPECTED
ALONG THE BEACHES TODAY WHICH WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS SURF
CONDITIONS AND A HIGH RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS. SWIMMERS AND SURFERS
ARE ENCOURAGED TO REMAIN OUT OF THE WATER.
...FLOOD IMPACTS...
RAINFALL AMOUNTS SO FAR HAVE BEEN 1 TO 2 INCHES. THERE WERE SEVERAL
UNOFFICIAL REPORTS OF NEAR 3 INCHES...INCLUDING MOUNT PLEASANT IN
CHARLESTON COUNTY. OCCASIONAL BANDS OF RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH JEANNE
WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. AS JEANNE
TURNS MORE TO THE NORTH NORTHEAST...THE OPPORTUNITY FOR ADDITIONAL
HEAVY RAIN WILL INCREASE OVER SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AND SOUTH COASTAL
SOUTH CAROLINA. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES IS
POSSIBLE WEST OF INTERSTATE 95 AND 1 TO 3 INCHES EAST OF INTERSTATE
95 WITH LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. THEREFORE...THE FLOOD WATCH
THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY MORNING REMAINS IN EFFECT.

THERE IS A MODERATE RISK OF TORNADOES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY
FOR EASTERN SOUTH CAROLINA AND A SLIGHT RISK FOR SOUTHEAST GEORGIA. A
TORNADO WATCH IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT THROUGH 5 PM FOR SOUTHEAST
GEORGIA AND SOUTH COASTAL SOUTH CAROLINA. RESIDENTS SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO SEEK SHELTER IN A STURDY BUILDING IF A TORNADO WARNING IS
