...TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM THE MOUTH OF THE
   PEARL RIVER WEST TO APALACHICOLA FLORIDA...INCLUDING THE ENTIRE
   MISSISSIPPI COAST...

...AREAS AFFECTED...
THIS STATEMENT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE
FOLLOWING PARISHES IN LOUISIANA...JEFFERSON...LAFOURCHE...
...ORLEANS...PLAQUEMINES...ST BERNARD...ST CHARLES...ST JOHN
THE BAPTIST...ST TAMMANY...TERREBONNE.

AND THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN MISSISSIPPI...HANCOCK...HARRISON...

THE HURRICANE WARNING FOR THE MISSISSIPPI COAST HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A
TROPICAL STORM WARNING.

THE TROPICAL STORM WARNING IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTHEAST
LOUISIANA COAST FROM THE MOUTH OF THE PEARL RIVER TO GRAND
ISLE.

...STORM INFORMATION SUMMARY...
AT 1000 AM CDT...HURRICANE IVAN WAS LOCATED AT 32.0 NORTH AND 87.5
WEST OR 65 MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF MONTGOMERY ALABAMA. IVAN IS
MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH AROUND 14 MPH WITH A GRADUAL TURN TO
THE NORTHEAST AND SLOWING IN FORWARD SPEED TODAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 75 MILES AN HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

RESIDENTS WHO EVACUATED SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA AND COASTAL MISSISSIPPI
IN PREPARATION FOR HURRICANE IVAN SHOULD FOLLOW ADVICE OF STATE AND
LOCAL OFFICIALS CONCERNING RETURNING TO THE AREA TODAY. LISTEN TO
LOCAL MEDIA FOR UPDATED AND DETAILED INFORMATION.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
STORM SURGE FLOODING OF 2 TO 4 FEET ABOVE NORMAL IS STILL POSSIBLE
ALONG THE AREAS BORDERING EASTERN LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN AS GUSTY WEST
WINDS PUSH WATER TOWARD THE EASTERN PORTION OF THE LAKE.

TIDE LEVELS HAVE FALLEN RAPIDLY ALONG THE EASTERN PORTION OF ST
BERNARD...PLAQUEMINES AND ORLEANS PORTIONS AS OFFSHORE WINDS
PREVAIL.

FLOOD GATES AT BAYOU BIENVENUE AND BAYOU DUPRE WILL BE OPENED TO
MARINE TRAFFIC LATE THIS MORNING.

...WIND IMPACTS....
WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS 25 TO 30 MILES WITH HIGHER GUSTS ARE
OCCURRING ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA...AROUND LAKE
PONTCHARTRAIN THIS MORNING.

IN COASTAL MISSISSIPPI....NORTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH HIGHER
GUSTS ARE OCCURRING ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI COAST...WITH SUSTAINED
WINDS ABOVE 40 MPH OVER THE COASTAL WATERS.

WINDS ACROSS THE AREA SHOULD GRADUALLY DIMINISH LATER THIS
AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

ALONG THE MISSSISSIPI COAST...THERE WILL BE A CONTINUE CHANCE
OF RAINSHOWERS THIS AFTERNOON...ESPECIALLY ACROSS HARRISON
AND JACKSON COUNTIES.
