A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR LEVY COUNTY...
INCLUDING THE COASTAL WATERS FROM YANKEETOWN TO SUWANNEE RIVER OUT
60 NM.

AT 5 PM EDT...2100Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE IVAN WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 28.4 NORTH...LONGITUDE 88.3 WEST OR ABOUT 320 MILES WEST
SOUTHWEST OF CEDAR KEY. IVAN IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 14 MPH
AND THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE UNTIL LANDFALL.
...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
WATER LEVELS ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING 2 TO 3 FEET ABOVE NORMAL ALONG THE
LEVY COUNTY COAST. THE HIGHEST WATER EXPECTED TODAY SHOULD BE
OCCURRING AT THIS TIME...AS THE AREA GOES INTO LOW TIDE THIS
EVENING.
WATER LEVELS COULD INCREASE TO 3 TO 5 FEET ABOVE NORMAL TIDES LATE
TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY.
MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING OF LOW LYING COASTAL AREAS MAY OCCUR...
ESPECIALLY DURING THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE. HIGH TIDES WILL OCCUR AT
314 AM THURSDAY MORNING AND 339 PM THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
...WIND IMPACTS...
SOUTHEAST WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 25 MPH WERE BEING
OBSERVED OVER LEVY COUNTY AND THE NEAR SHORE GULF WATERS THIS
AFTERNOON. THE STRONGEST WINDS FOR LEVY COUNTY ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR
WITHIN THE BANDS OF HEAVY RAIN AS HURRICANE IVAN MOVES NORTHWARD
THROUGH TONIGHT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50
MPH WILL BEGIN TO IMPACT COASTAL SECTIONS OF LEVY COUNTY LATER
TONIGHT CONTINUING INTO EARLY THURSDAY.
MINOR DAMAGE MAY OCCUR IN OLDER MOBILE HOME PARKS. NEWLY PLANTED
TREES AND SHRUBS MAY BE UPROOTED IF NOT SECURED PROPERLY. RESIDENTS
SHOULD MOVE UNFASTENED ITEMS...SUCH AS GARBAGE CANS AND DECK
FURNITURE INDOORS.

BANDS OF SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS REMAINED 100 MILES WEST
OF THE LEVY COUNTY COASTLINE...WHICH WAS THE EASTERN EDGE OF
HURRICANE IVAN. A FEW HEAVY RAIN BANDS MAY MOVE ONSHORE THE LEVY
COUNTY COAST LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY THURSDAY MORNING AS IVAN MAKES
LANDFALL WELL WEST OF THE AREA. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL OF 1 TO 3
INCHES IS POSSIBLE...BUT THE BULK OF THE RAIN WILL REMAIN WEST OF THE
AREA. LOCALIZED FLOODING IN LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINGE AREAS MAY
OCCUR. RESIDENTS LIVING IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS OR ALONG AREA STREAMS...
CREEKS...AND RIVERS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SOME FLOODING AND SHOULD
TAKE ACTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY.
THE NEXT HURRICANE LOCAL STATEMENT FROM THE TAMPA BAY AREA FORECAST
OFFICE WILL BE ISSUED AROUND 830 PM EDT THIS EVENING.
