A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE FLORIDA GULF
COAST FROM THE SUWANEE RIVER TO ST. MARKS. THESE WARNINGS COULD BE
DISCONTINUED LATER TONIGHT.
AT 8 PM EDT...0000Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM FRANCES WAS
LOCATED INLAND NEAR LATITUDE 31.1 NORTH...LONGITUDE 84.5 WEST OR
ABOUT 35 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF ALBANY GEORGIA.
FRANCES IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHWEST NEAR 11 MPH AND A
GENERALLY NORTHWARD MOTION IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MPH...WITH HIGHER GUSTS...
MAINLY OVER WATER. FUTHER WEAKENING IS EXPECTED AS FRANCES MOVES
FURTHER INLAND.
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 90 MILES SOUTH OF
THE CENTER.
ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 984 MB...29.06 INCHES.
STORM SURGE FLOODING OF 4 TO 8 FEET ABOVE NORMAL TIDE LEVELS
...ALONG WITH LARGE AND DANGEROUS WAVES...CONTINUE FROM TAMPA BAY
NORTHWARD TO THE APALACHEE BAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE EXPECTED TO ABATE
LATER TONIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY.
RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 6 TO 10 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...
