...CHARLEY HAS MOVED OFF THE VOLUSIA COUNTY COAST...

...WATCHES AND WARNINGS...
HURRICANE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA COAST
FROM COCOA BEACH NORTHWARD TO FLAGLER BEACH. TROPICAL STORM WARNING
IN EFFECT FROM JUPITER INLET TO COCOA BEACH BUT WILL SOON BE
LIFTED...

...A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA THROUGH
SATURDAY.

...THE INLAND HURRICANE AND TROPICAL STORM WIND WARNINGS HAVE BEEN
CANCELED...

...THE TORNADO WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELED...

...STORM INFORMATION...

AT 130 AM...THE CIRCULATION CENTER OF HURRICANE CHARLEY WAS OUT
OVER THE COASTAL WATERS JUST EAST OF SAINT AUGUSTINE...AND
CONTINUING TO MOVE NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.

...WIND IMPACT...
DAMAGING WINDS WERE NOW SUBSIDING OVER VOLUSIA COUNTY...LEAVING
ALL OF EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA CLEAR OF HURRICANE FORCE WINDS.
HOWEVER...TROPICAL STORM FORCE WIND WERE STILL OCCURRING ALONG
THE COAST NEAR DAYTONA AND ORMOND BEACH. SOME GUSTS TO 60 MPH
WILL STILL BE POSSIBLE FOR THE NEXT HOUR...ESPECIALLY IN PASSING RAIN
BANDS. ALSO...TROPICAL STORM FORCE WIND GUSTS WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH
ANY PASSING SHOWER UNTIL CHARLEY MOVES FARTHER AWAY FROM THE AREA.

FOR INLAND COUNTIES...THE INLAND HURRICANE AND TROPICAL STORM WIND
WARNINGS HAVE BEEN CANCELED. THE THREAT FOR DAMAGING SUSTAINED
WINDS HAS DIMINISHED.

CHARLEY HAS LEFT A WAKE OF DAMAGE ALONG ITS CENTER TRACK THAT MAY
NOT BE FULLY ASSESSED UNTIL THE SUN COMES UP. NONETHELESS...
NUMEROUS REPORTS OF DOWNED TREES...POWER OUTAGES...AND WIND DAMAGE
HAVE BEEN REPORTED.  CURRENTLY...RESCUE AND RECOVERY OPERATIONS ARE
UNDERWAY WITHIN RESPECTIVE COUNTIES. IF IT IS NOT AN
EMERGENCY...RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO STAY INDOORS ALLOWING RECOVERY
OPERATIONS TO QUICKLY PROGRESS.

...FLOOD IMPACT...
MUCH OF THE ASSOCIATED RAIN WITH CHARLEY HAS NOW MOVED OUT OVER THE
EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA COASTAL WATERS...ESPECIALLY CHARLEYS MAIN
RAIN SHIELD. THIS WILL RESULT IN A LOWERING OF THE FLOOD THREAT.
HOWEVER...A FLOOD WATCH WILL CONTINUE INTO THE DAY SATURDAY AS
ABUNDANT TROPICAL MOISTURE LINGERS OVER THE FORECAST AREA.

...SURGE IMPACT...
THE THREAT FOR STORM SURGE IS NOW DECREASING ACROSS VOLUSIA COUNTY
AS ASSOCIATED WINDS ARE NOW OFFSHORE.

...TORNADO THREAT...
THE THREAT FOR TORNADOES HAS DECREASED. THE TORNADO WATCH FOR EAST
CENTRAL FLORIDA HAS BEEN CANCELED. HOWEVER...A LOW THREAT WILL
CONTINUE MAINLY ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST ASSOCIATED WITH ANY
TRAILING RAINBANDS.

...NEXT UPDATE...
THE NEXT HURRICANE LOCAL STATEMENT WILL BE ISSUED AROUND 3 AM
OR SOONER IF CONDITIONS WARRANT.
