THIS STATEMENT IS FOR RESIDENTS OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN
NORTHEAST SOUTH CAROLINA...GEORGETOWN AND HORRY...AND IN
SOUTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA...BRUNSWICK COUNTY...NEW HANOVER...
PENDER...COLUMBUS AND BLADEN.

...WATCHES/WARNINGS...
A HURRICANE WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM THE SOUTH SANTEE RIVER SOUTH
CAROLINA TO OREGON INLET NORTH CAROLINA. A HURRICANE WARNING MEANS
WINDS OVER 74 MPH WILL OCCUR WITHIN 24 HOURS.

AN INLAND HURRICANE WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA...COLUMBUS AND BLADEN.
AN INLAND TROP9ICAL STORM WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE
FOLLOWING SOUTH CAROLINA COUNTIES...WILLIAMSBURG...FLORENCE...
MARION...DILLON...AND IN NORTH CAROLINA...ROBESON COUNTY.

A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE COASTAL PLAIN OF SOUTH CAROLINA
AND NORTH CAROLINA.

AT 11 PM EDT...0300Z...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE CHARLEY WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 29.1 NORTH... LONGITUDE  81.1 WEST OR ABOUT 10 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF DAYTONA BEACH FLORIDA.

CHARLEY WAS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHEAST NEAR 25 MPH...AND A
GRADUAL  INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED IS EXPECTED.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 85 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
PREPARATIONS SHOULD HAVE COME TO AN END AND RESIDENTS SHOULD FOLLOW
THE ADVICE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND OTHER GOVERNMENT
OFFICIALS FOR EVACUATIONS OR POSSIBLE EVACUATIONS AND SHELTER
AVAILABILITY.

WINDS ACROSS THE AREA WILL INCREASE ON SATURDAY MORNING. TROPICAL
STORM FORCE WINDS...IN EXCESS OF 40 MPH...ARE EXPECTED TO SPREAD INTO
NORTHEAST SOUTH CAROLINA...AND INTO SOUTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA FROM
EARLY SATURDAY MORNING INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON. HURRICANE FORCE
WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO AFFECT THE GEORGETOWN AND HORRY COUNTIES COAST
AROUND NOON AND CONTINUE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. TROPICAL STORM
STRENGTH WINDS WILL DIMINISH FROM THE SOUTH DURING THE
AFTERNOON...LEAVING THE AREA BY LATE AFTERNOON.

...STORM SURGE FLOOD AND STORM TIDE IMPACTS...
BASED ON THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACK FOR CHARLEY...WINDS WILL BE
ONSHORE ACROSS THE AREA. WITH THE CURRENT PROJECTED STRENGTH AND
LOCATION OF THE STORM...TIDES COULD BE 6 TO 8 FEET ABOVE NORMAL
ALONG THE SOUTH FACING BEACHES OF BRUNSWICK COUNTY AND NORTHERN
HORRY COUNTY...AROUND  4 TO 6 FEET ALONG THE EAST FACES BEACHES OF
GEORGETOWN AND SOUTHERN HORRY COUNTY...AND 3 FEET ON THE BEACHES OF
NEW HANOVER AND PENDER COUNTIES. IT ES EXPECTED THE HIGHEST SURGE
WILL BE AT ABOUT THE TIME OF LOW TIDE. LOW TIDE WILL OCCUR AT 1:22
PM AT LOCKWOODS FOLLY INLET NEAR HOLDEN BEACH ON SATURDAY.  AT
SPRINGMAID PIER AT MYRTLE BEACH LOW TIDE WILL OCCUR AT 1:07 PM AND
AT MASONBORO INLET NEAR WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH LOW TIDE WILL OCCUR AT
1:13 PM.MODERATE BEACH EROSION IS POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM.

...SEAS AND RIP CURRENTS...
SEAS WILL BUILD TO AT LEAST 10 TO 15 FEET ON SATURDAY...WITH
DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS.  MARINERS SHOULD STAY IN PORT.

...FLOOD IMPACTS...
WITH THE RAINFALL DURING THE PAST 24 HOURS FROM THE REMNANTS OF
BONNIE...THE GROUND IS ALREADY SATURATED IN SOME AREAS. AN
ADDITIONAL 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE WITH CHARLEY. FLOODING IS
POSSIBLE IN AREAS WITH POOR DRAINAGE...SMALL STREAMS AND LOW LYING
AREAS.
