The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 572
continues.

SUMMARY...A corridor of severe wind gusts remains likely with an MCS
moving across southern Illinois and toward southwest Indiana.

DISCUSSION...A small but impressive MCS continues to produce severe
wind gusts as it travels across far southern IL.  This system has
generally maintained a motion to east/southeast down the instability
axis. Recent radar trends show additional rightward propagation,
suggesting severe winds will become likely into parts of western KY.


The air mass has been cooled over much of central KY southward into
eastern-Middle TN in the wake of earlier storms. As such, the
greatest threat through this evening appears to be within the
existing watch 572, which contains the expected eastward extent of
the threat well. Given the strong instability and very moist air
mass into the remainder of western KY and portions of TN, trends
will need to be monitored for possible watch expansion.
