...Periods of Heavy Rainfall Possible with Alberto Tuesday into
Tuesday Night Across Middle Tennessee...
.Alberto is expected to become a tropical depression as it
approaches and moves across the mid state Tuesday into Tuesday
night. Storm total rainfall associated with Alberto is expected
to range from around 1.0 inch across Upper Cumberland Region to
around 2.0 inches across Nashville Metro Area to around 1.5 inches
across TN River Valley Region. Most of this rainfall will occur
Tuesday afternoon. These amounts are generally below expected
flash flood guidance values. However, locations that have and are
expected to experience brief heavy rainfall through tonight could
experience runoff from brief heavy rainfall associated with Alberto.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH
WEDNESDAY MORNING...
The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of Middle Tennessee, including
the following areas, Bedford, Cannon, Cheatham, Clay, Coffee,
Cumberland, Davidson, De Kalb, Dickson, Fentress, Giles,
Grundy, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Jackson, Lawrence, Lewis,
Macon, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Overton, Perry, Pickett,
Putnam, Robertson, Rutherford, Smith, Stewart, Sumner,
Trousdale, Van Buren, Warren, Wayne, White, Williamson, and
Wilson.
* From Tuesday morning 7 AM CDT through Wednesday morning 7 AM CDT
* Total rainfall amounts from around one inch to around two inches
with locally higher amounts approaching three inches possible.
* Some flash flooding is possible. In addition, you can expect
rises to occur on area creeks and streams, and possibly along
larger rivers as well.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
