The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 212
continues.

SUMMARY...An isolated threat for large hail and wind damage will
continue across the central Gulf Coast extending eastward into the
Florida Panhandle and southern Alabama. Weather watch issuance is
not expected to the east of WW 212 but the situation will continue
to be monitored.

DISCUSSION...Latest radar data shows a nearly continuous line of
strong to severe thunderstorms with a couple embedded line-echo wave
patterns. A moist airmass is present to the east of the convective
line with surface dewpoints in the lower 70s F extending as far east
as Panama City in the Florida Panhandle. This has resulted in a
narrow corridor where MLCAPE values are estimated in the 1000 to
1200 J/kg range. This combined with moderate deep-layer shear (0-6
Km Shear of 35-45 Kt) evident on the Mobile WSR-88D VWP will support
an isolated severe threat. Bowing line segments embedded in the line
should be capable of producing wind damage and isolated large hail.
The wind shear environment may also support a potential for isolated
supercells with large hail.
