...REMNANTS OF HURRICANE DENNIS WILL IMPACT MIDDLE TENNESSEE
BEGINNING AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT AND CONTINUING INTO MONDAY NIGHT...

THE MOST RECENT FORECASTS FROM COMPUTER MODELS INDICATE LANDFALL OF
HURRICANE DENNIS WILL OCCUR NEAR MOBILE BAY LATE THIS AFTERNOON. THE
PATH OF HURRICANE DENNIS AS IT MOVES INLAND IS EXPECTED TO BE
SLIGHTLY WEST OF WHAT WAS PREDICTED YESTERDAY AT THIS TIME. THE
CENTER OF THE STORM WILL LIKELY MOVE TO NEAR MEMPHIS TENNESSEE MONDAY
AFTERNOON.

THE MAIN EFFECTS FROM HURRICANE DENNIS WILL BE FELT IN MIDDLE
TENNESSEE MAINLY ON MONDAY AND EARLY MONDAY NIGHT. PRESENT
INDICATIONS ARE THAT HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE CONFINED TO THE WEST
THIRD OF THE MID STATE...WHERE AMOUNTS FROM 1 TO 2 INCHES...WITH
3 INCH AMOUNTS EXPECTED IN SOME AREAS...WILL OCCUR.

WINDS WILL BEGIN INCREASING LATER TONIGHT OVER SOUTHWEST MIDDLE
TENNESSEE...AND INCREASE ELSEWHERE ACROSS THE MID STATE ON MONDAY.
HEAVY RAINFALL SHOULD HOLD OFF UNTIL DURING THE DAYTIME ON MONDAY AS
THE STORM APPROACHES. WIND GUSTS AROUND 40 MPH OR POSSIBLY
HIGHER WILL LIKELY AFFECT MOSTLY WEST PORTIONS OF THE MID STATE.
RAINFALL AMOUNTS AND WIND GUSTS SHOULD BE MUCH LESS OVER EAST
SECTIONS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE.

THERE WILL ALSO BE A POSSIBILITY OF A FEW TORNADOES OVER WEST AND
SOUTHWEST MIDDLE TENNESSEE DURING THE DAY ON MONDAY AND MONDAY
EVENING. BUT THIS WILL DEPEND ON HOW UNSTABLE THE ATMOSPHERE
BECOMES.

PEOPLE IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE...ESPECIALLY THOSE WEST OF INTERSTATE
65...SHOULD BE ALERT FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF FLOODING AND STRONG
WINDS. STAY TUNED FOR LATER STATEMENTS...ADVISORIES OR POSSIBLY
WARNINGS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AS THIS SITUATION
CONTINUES TO DEVELOP.
