Tropical Weather Discussion for North America, Central America
Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, northern sections of South
America, and Atlantic Ocean to the African coast from the
Equator to 32N. The following information is based on satellite
imagery, weather observations, radar and meteorological analysis.

Based on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery
through 0550 UTC.

...TROPICAL WAVES...

An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 24W/25W from 16N
southward. The wave is passing through the Cabo Verde Islands.
A 1013 mb low pressure center is along the wave near 11N. Widely
scattered moderate to isolated strong rainshowers are from 08N
to 10N between 25W and 28W. Rainshowers are possible elsewhere
from 08N to 19N between 22W and 29W.

An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 40W, from 15N
southward. A 1011 mb low pressure center is along the wave near
10.5N. An elongated low pressure system located is in the
central tropical Atlantic Ocean about midway between the Cabo
Verde Islands and the Lesser Antilles. Rainshowers are possible
from is producing limited shower and thunderstorm activity.
Scattered moderate to isolated strong rainshowers are from 09N
to 13N between 42W and 47W. Isolated moderate rainshowers are
elsewhere from 06N to 13N between 40W and 52W.

An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 58W/60W, from 25N
southward. Widely scattered moderate to isolated strong
rainshowers are from 19N to 22N between 55W and 60W.

A Caribbean tropical wave extends along 83W/84W from 21N
southward. Isolated moderate rainshowers are in the NW corner of
the Caribbean Sea, from 15N northward from the Windward Passage
westward.

...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ...

The monsoon trough passes through the coastal border areas of
Senegal and Guinea-Bissau, to 10N24W 12N35W 07N46W. The ITCZ
continues from 07N46W to 07N50W to 10N57W. Widely scattered
moderate to isolated strong rainshowers are from 13N to 15N
between 32W and 37W.

GULF OF MEXICO...

A upper level trough extends from the Florida Panhandle into the
SW corner of the Gulf of Mexico, near 20N along the Mexico coast.
Isolated moderate rainshowers span the entire Gulf of Mexico.
Widely scattered moderate to isolated strong rainshowers are
from 26N southward from 88W eastward.

A weak ridge will persist in the N Gulf of Mexico during the
next few days. A surface trough will move into the eastern Gulf
late Fri into Sat, producing increased showers and thunderstorms
offshore. High pressure will build westward across Florida, and
into the eastern Gulf of Mexico early next week.

CARIBBEAN SEA...

An upper level trough passes through the central Atlantic Ocean,
toward Puerto Rico and Hispaniola. Rainshowers are possible from
15N to 20N between the offshore waters of Puerto Rico and the
nearby islands

A western Caribbean Sea tropical wave near 84W will move across
Central America through Friday. A tropical wave near 59W will
move into the Tropical N Atlantic Ocean and the eastern
Caribbean Sea through Sat night, then cross the western
Caribbean Sea from Sunday through Monday. Fresh to strong trade
winds will persist in the south central Caribbean through early
Sat, then remain fresh through early next week. Another tropical
wave near 40W will reach the Tropical N Atlantic early next week
and produce increased winds and seas.

ATLANTIC OCEAN...

A trough approaching the southern Bahamas will move
northwestward across the Bahamas tonight through Fri, then
across southern and central Florida Fri through Sat before
weakening by Sun. This trough will be accompanied by showers and
thunderstorms with strong gusty winds and locally rough seas.
High pressure will build over the Central Atlantic along roughly
27N early next week.
