FOR PEOPLE ON TINIAN..SAIPAN...ALAMAGAN...PAGAN AND AGRIHAN IN THE
NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS.


.WATCHES/WARNINGS...
A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR SAIPAN...TINIAN AND
THEIR COASTAL WATERS. TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR
OCCURRING THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT.

AT 7 PM CHST...THE CENTER OF TYPHOON NANGKA (11W) WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 18.0N...LONGITUDE 145.2E...OR ABOUT 40 MILES WEST
OF PAGAN, ABOUT 50 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST ALAMAGAN, ABOUT 65 MILES
SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF AGRIHAN, ABOUT 200 MILES NORTH OF SAIPAN, ABOUT
210 MILES NORTH OF TINIAN, ABOUT 270 MILES NORTH OF ROTA, AND ABOUT
315 MILES NORTH OF GUAM. STORM MOTION WAS WEST-NORTHWEST AT 13 MPH.
STORM INTENSITY WAS 145 MPH.

THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACK TAKES TYPHOON NANGKA THROUGH THE
NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS OVER ALAMAGAN THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
NANGKA REMAINS A STRONG CATEGORY 4 TYPHOON. TYPHOON NANGKA IS
EXPECTED TO REMAIN NEAR THIS INTENSITY AS IT PASSES THROUGH THE
MARIANAS.

THE LATEST FORECAST SHOWS THAT DAMAGING WINDS OF 39 MPH OR MORE
ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS TINIAN AND SAIPAN THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING
AS NANGKA PASSES TO THE NORTH.

TO TROPICAL STORM FORCE AROUND MIDNIGHT. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO

.PAGAN...TYPHOON FORCE SOUTHEAST WINDS THIS EVENING WILL DECREASE TO

SOUTH AND GRADUALLY SUBSIDE TO BELOW TROPICAL STORM FORCE LATER FRIDAY

SEAS OF AROUND 20 TO 30 FEET WILL REMAIN AT THESE HEIGHTS THROUGH
