Areas affected...the Tennessee Valley area

Concerning...Tornado Watch 39...

Valid 162142Z - 162345Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 39 continues.

SUMMARY...Local severe-weather risk -- including potential for a
couple of tornadoes, continues across the Tennessee Valley area
(within Tornado Watch 39).

DISCUSSION...Latest radar loop shows a band of thunderstorms --
including embedded/occasionally rotating storms -- moving eastward
across south-central Kentucky/Middle Tennessee/northeastern
Mississippi/northwestern Alabama at this time, within WW 39. While
storms have diminished a bit with respect to organization over the
past half hour, the environment remains supportive of additional
increases in updraft rotation, and attendant severe risk. The risk
should persist through the afternoon and into the early evening
hours.
