The National Weather Service in Nashville has extended the
* Flood Advisory for...
Overton County in Middle Tennessee...
Pickett County in Middle Tennessee...
Jackson County in Middle Tennessee...
Clay County in Middle Tennessee...
Putnam County in Middle Tennessee...
* Until 515 PM CST.
* At 209 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated rains are starting to exit
the advisory area, however flooding is still ongoing. Many roads
are closed. Creeks and rivers are running extremely high, if not
already overflowing and spilling into roadways. Please do not try
to drive through flooded areas.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cookeville, Livingston, Celina, Gainesboro, Byrdstown, Algood,
Monterey, Baxter, Whitleyville, Moss, Burgess Falls State Park,
Rickman, Crawford, Granville, Dale Hollow Lake, Cummins Falls State
Park and Standing Stone State Park.
This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 267 and 304.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
