Areas affected...Eastern Tennessee...southeastern Kentucky...far
western North Carolina.

Concerning...Tornado Watch 294...295...

Valid 210252Z - 210345Z

The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 294, 295 continues.

SUMMARY...The tornado threat continues across southwestern portions
of watch 295. Elsewhere within watch 295, the threat has
transitioned to more of a wind concern.

DISCUSSION...A line of storms have produced some wind damage in
eastern Tennessee over the past several hours. This wind damage
threat will continue to move southward through eastern Tennessee
over the next few hours. East of the Tennessee border, limited
instability should lead to storms weakening.

On the western flank of this line of storms, a cluster of supercells
continues to form as moist, unstable air is advected into the
upshear portion of the cold pool. This western portion of the line
of storms will continue to pose the greatest tornado risk into the
overnight period. This is where MLCAPE remains in excess of 2000
J/kg and the storm mode will remain mostly discreet with 0 to 1 km
SRH in excess of 150 m2/s2 measured by the KHTX VWP.
