...Hot Weather Safety Will Be Important this July Fourth...

Most of the area will see highs in the low to mid 90s on the
Fourth of July, and maximum afternoon heat index values are
forecast to be between 100 and 104 degrees. Even at 8 pm in the
evening, the heat index in the Nashville area will still be
hovering in the middle 90s. Hot weather safety will be very
important, and you should take extra precautions if you plan to
work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous
activities to the early morning hours. Wear light weight and loose
fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. Take
frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
Doing these things will help limit the possibility of heat
related illness.
