...A Winter Weather Event is Possible Across Middle Tennessee
Friday into Saturday...

A system will move into the Tennessee River Valley early Friday
morning introducing the chance for a wintry mix across the area.
The transition from rain to freezing rain and sleet is possible
late Friday morning to early afternoon. Some light ice
accumulations for the I-65 corridor will be possible, however
the best chance for ice accumulations will remain in the western
counties, which are currently under a Winter Storm Watch.

The transition to all snow is forecast for Friday afternoon and
evening along the Plateau. Snowfall accumulation totals may range
from 3 inches in the northwest corner of Middle Tennessee to less
than an inch for the Cumberland Plateau. Some uncertainty exists
in the time and speed of the transition from rain to wintry
precipitation and this will play a big part in the hazards that
develop. Please stay tuned for updates as we get closer to Friday.
