The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a
* Flood Advisory for...
Southwestern Overton County in Middle Tennessee...
Southeastern Jackson County in Middle Tennessee...
Northwestern Putnam County in Middle Tennessee...
* Until 815 PM CDT.
* At 618 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain will cause minor
flooding in and near Cummins Falls State Park. Doppler radar
estimates a half to one inch of rain has already fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Algood, Baxter, Rickman and Cummins Falls State Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
