...CROSSVILLE SETTING A NEW RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR THIS DATE...
...AND MORE UNSEASONABLY WARM WEATHER IS ON TAP FOR THE MID STATE
TOMORROW...

SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO BRING UNSEASONABLY WARM WEATHER
TO MIDDLE TENNESSEE THROUGH SATURDAY...AND PRODUCE NEAR RECORD
HIGH TEMPERATURES.

CROSSVILLE BROKE ITS DAILY RECORD FOR THIS DATE OF 64
DEGREES EARLIER TODAY...SET BACK IN 1960...AND AT 2 PM WAS
REGISTERING A TOASTY 67 DEGREES. AT THE SAME TIME...THE MERCURY
WAS PUSHING TO NEAR 70 DEGREES AT NASHVILLE...JUST A FEW DEGREES
SHY OF THE THE DAILY RECORD OF 72...SET BACK IN 1890.

A HIGH OF 73 DEGREES IS EXPECTED AT NASHVILLE TOMORROW...WHICH
WOULD COME UP JUST SHY OF THE OLD RECORD OF 75...SET BACK IN
1890. THE ALL TIME RECORD HIGH AT NASHVILLE FOR THE MONTH OF
JANUARY IS 78 DEGREES...LAST SET BACK ON JANUARY 24, 1972.

THE HIGH TEMPERATURE AT CROSSVILLE ON SATURDAY IS EXPECTED TO BE
71...WHICH WOULD EASILY BREAK THE OLD RECORD OF 64...SET IN 1960.
THE ALL TIME RECORD HIGH AT CROSSVILLE FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY IS
72...SET ON JANUARY 30, 2002...AND MIGHT ALSO BE IN JEOPARDY OF BEING
EXCEEDED.

THIS WARM SPELL WILL BE SHORT LIVED...AND IS EXPECTED TO BE
FOLLOWED BY A GENERAL COOLING TREND OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS ...WITH
SOME VERY COLD CANADIAN AIR POSSIBLY ARRIVING BY LATE NEXT WEEK OR
SHORTLY THEREAFTER. TEMPERATURES OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS COULD
VERY WELL TUMBLE SOME 30 TO 40 DEGREES...OR EVEN MORE...FOLLOWING
THIS NICE WARM INTERLUDE. SO...DON'T PUT AWAY THE HEAVY COATS.
THEY'LL PROBABLY COME IN HANDY AGAIN SOON.

AS THE COLD AIR STARTS TO SPREAD IN EARLY NEXT WEEK...SOME
NORTHERN AND WESTERN PARTS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE MIGHT EVEN SEE A
FEW PERIODS OF A WINTRY MIX BETWEEN SUNDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY
NIGHT.
