SUBJECT: TRANSFER OF WARNING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE TENNESSEE RIVER
IN HARDIN AND DECATUR COUNTIES

ON JUNE 9 2008...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE IN
NASHVILLE WILL OFFICIALLY TRANSFER WARNING RESPONSIBILITY FOR
LOCATIONS ON THE TENNESSEE RIVER IN HARDIN AND DECATUR COUNTIES TO
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE IN MEMPHIS. THIS
TRANSFER OF SERVICE ONLY AFFECTS PRODUCTS RELATED TO THE TENNESSEE
RIVER AT PICKWICK DAM AND SAVANNAH IN HARDIN COUNTY...AND THE
TENNESSEE RIVER AT PERRYVILLE IN DECATUR COUNTY.

FLOOD WARNINGS FOR THESE LOCATIONS ON THE TENNESSEE RIVER WILL BE
FOUND UNDER THE PRODUCT INVENTORY LIST /PIL/ MEMFLWMEG...AND FLOOD
STATEMENTS AND FLOOD ADVISORIES WILL BE FOUND UNDER THE PIL
MEMFLSMEG. RIVER FORECASTS FOR THE TENNESSEE RIVER WILL CONTINUE TO
BE PROVIDED BY THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY...AND THE NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE WILL ISSUE FLOOD RELATED WARNINGS AND STATEMENTS
BASED ON THESE FORECASTS.
