...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED OVER PARTS OF THE LOWER
MISSOURI...MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI AND LOWER OHIO VALLEYS TODAY...

THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER IN NORMAN OK IS FORECASTING THE
DEVELOPMENT OF DAMAGING WINDS...TORNADOES...AND LARGE HAIL OVER
PARTS OF THE LOWER MISSOURI...MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI AND LOWER OHIO
VALLEYS TODAY.

THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE

       NORTHEASTERN ARKANSAS
       SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL ILLINOIS
       SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL INDIANA
       WESTERN KENTUCKY
       SOUTHEASTERN AND CENTRAL MISSOURI
       FAR SOUTHWESTERN OHIO
       WESTERN TENNESSEE

SURROUNDING THIS REGION...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS FROM CENTRAL TEXAS NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE LOWER
MISSISSIPPI AND TENNESSEE VALLEYS INTO THE GREAT LAKES STATES.

A POWERFUL UPPER STORM SYSTEM IS TRACKING RAPIDLY EASTWARD ACROSS
THE NORTHERN PLAINS LATE THIS MORNING.  THIS SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO
MOVE ACROSS THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY AND INTO THE GREAT LAKES
STATES BY WEDNESDAY MORNING.  MEANWHILE...A MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIR
MASS WILL CONTINUE DEVELOPING NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS MUCH OF THE MID
MISSISSIPPI AND LOWER OH VALLEYS AHEAD OF SURFACE COLD FRONT
ASSOCIATED WITH THIS UPPER SYSTEM.  NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS ARE
ALREADY DEVELOPING ALONG AND AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT ACROSS PARTS OF
MISSOURI AND ILLINOIS.  THIS ACTIVITY WILL CONTINUE INCREASING IN
COVERAGE AND INTENSITY THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING AS IT SPREADS
GENERALLY EASTWARD INTO INDIANA...SOUTHWESTERN OHIO...WESTERN
KENTUCKY...AND WESTERN TENNESSEE.  THUNDERSTORMS MAY ALSO DEVELOP
SOUTHWESTWARD ALONG THE COLD FRONT DURING THE EVENING INTO PARTS OF
ARKANSAS AND TEXAS.  CONDITIONS APPEAR FAVORABLE FOR A SEVERE SQUALL
LINE CAPABLE OF WIDESPREAD DAMAGING WINDS...ALONG WITH THE RISK OF A
FEW TORNADOES AND LARGE HAIL.  ISOLATED SUPERCELLS MAY ALSO FORM
BOTH AHEAD OF AND WITHIN THIS LINE OF STORMS LATER TODAY AND THIS
EVENING...INCREASING THE RISK OF BOTH TORNADOES AND VERY LARGE HAIL.

SAFETY RULES AND TO LISTEN TO RADIO...TELEVISION...AND NOAA WEATHER
