The Typhoon Warning for Rota, Tinian and Saipan is cancelled.

.AREAS AFFECTED...
This local statement provides important information and
recommended actions for people in the Northern CNMI.

.Watches/Warnings...
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Agrihan, Pagan and
Alamagan.

Please check the latest public and marine forecasts for detailed
information about additional hazards.

.STORM INFORMATION...
At 1 PM ChST...the center of Super Typhoon Bolaven (15W) was
located near Latitude 17.5N...Longitude 143.8E. This was About 290
miles north-northwest OF Guam. Storm Motion was north-northwest.
Storm Intensity was 160 mph.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
Typhoon Bolaven is moving away from Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan
and remains west of the northern CNMI. Winds will diminish as the
day goes on. Alamagan, Pagan and Agrihan will likely receive minimal
Tropical Storm force winds today from the edge of Typhoon Bolaven.

During the storm, stay inside a sturdy shelter. Do not venture
outside when high winds are occurring or during temporary lulls as
flying debris can easily and suddenly cause serious injury.

Service in Tiyan around 9 PM...or sooner if conditions warrant.

As Typhoon Bolaven exits the area, winds will continue to diminish.
Sustained damaging winds or wind gusts are no longer expected,
though windy conditions will continue through the afternoon. Please
refer to the latest National Weather Service forecast for wind
information.

...COASTAL INUNDATION AND SURF INFORMATION...
The inundation threat has passed. Dangerous surf conditions with surf
heights exceeding 15 feet are expected today. Hazardous surf
conditions are expected to continue through at least Thursday.

As Super Typhoon Bolaven curves northward west of the Marianas,
damaging winds of 30 to 45 mph with gusts to 60 mph will continue
through this evening. The wind direction gradually change to south.
Tonight the winds will turn southwest and diminish below damaging
levels.

...COASTAL INUNDATION AND SURF INFORMATION...
Inundation is likely to be minimal at this time, however conditions
could change. Surf could become hazardous at 9 to 12 feet along west
facing reefs.
