This product covers the Midlands of central South Carolina and east central Georgia CSRA

**Strong wind gusts remain possible in far eastern Midlands and Pee Dee**

NEW INFORMATION
---------------

* CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - The Tropical Storm Warning has been cancelled for Calhoun,
      Central Orangeburg, Clarendon, Fairfield, Lexington,
      Northwestern Orangeburg, Richland, and Southeastern Orangeburg

* CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Chesterfield,
      Kershaw, Lee, Northern Lancaster, Southern Lancaster, and Sumter

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 80 miles northeast of Sumter SC
    - 34.7N 79.3W
    - Storm Intensity 60 mph
    - Movement North or 350 degrees at 15 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

Ian continues northward across the Pee Dee region this evening.
Additional impacts will be limited to the far eastern Midlands and Pee
where tropical storm force wind gusts will be possible.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS
-----------------

* WIND:
Potential impacts from the main wind event are now unfolding across
portions of the eastern Midlands and Pee Dee regions of South Carolina.
Remain well sheltered from hazardous wind having possible limited
impacts. If realized, these impacts include:
    - Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored
      mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.
    - Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or
      uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees are
      shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown over.
    - A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within urban
      or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving conditions on
      bridges and other elevated roadways.
    - Scattered power and communications outages.

Elsewhere across the Midlands of central South Carolina and east
central Georgia CSRA, little to no impact is anticipated.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

* OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:
Keep cell phones well charged. Cell phone chargers for automobiles
can be helpful, but be aware of your risk for deadly carbon monoxide
poisoning if your car is left idling in a garage or other poorly
ventilated area.
