**TROPICAL STORM MINDY IS BRINGING HEAVY RAIN AND WIND TO THE FLORIDA
BIG BEND REGION. WILL EXIT THE REGION EARLY THURSDAY MORNING.**

NEW INFORMATION

* CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - The Tropical Storm Warning has been cancelled for Coastal Gulf

* CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Coastal Franklin,
      Coastal Jefferson, Coastal Taylor, Coastal Wakulla, Inland
      Taylor, and Lafayette

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 30 miles east-northeast of Apalachicola or about 20 miles
      southwest of St Marks
    - 29.9N 84.5W
    - Storm Intensity 45 mph
    - Movement Northeast or 55 degrees at 20 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

At 11 PM EDT, the center of Tropical Storm Mindy was located about
35 miles east-northeast of Apalachicola. Maximum sustained winds were
45 mph. Mindy was moving rapidly to the northeast at 20 mph along the
coast of Franklin County. Mindy will continue to move along the north
shore of Apalachee Bay overnight and cross the northern Florida
Peninsula and southeast Georgia by Thursday morning.

Tropical Storm Warnings have ended west of Indian Pass. Tropical Storm
Warnings remain in effect from Indian Pass to the mouth of the
Steinhatchee River, as well as inland Taylor County and Lafayette
County.

Heavy rainfall continues to be the main threat. Rain has ended west of
the Apalachicola River, but 2 to 4 inches of rain are possible late
this evening and overnight to the left of Mindy's center, including
areas from Tallahassee to Monticello.

A brief tornado or two will remain possible overnight over the eastern
Big Bend region.

Dangerous rip currents and elevated surf will continue to be hazards
until waves and seas subside.

Mindy is expected to exit east of I-75 by sunrise on Thursday.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS
-----------------

* FLOODING RAIN:
Potential impacts from the flooding rain are still unfolding across
the Florida Big Bend region. Remain well guarded against dangerous
flood waters having possible significant impacts.
If realized, these impacts include:
    - Moderate rainfall flooding may prompt several evacuations and
      rescues.
    - Rivers and tributaries may quickly become swollen with swifter
      currents and overspill their banks in a few places, especially
      in usually vulnerable spots. Small streams, creeks, and ditches
      overflow.

Potential impacts from the flooding rain are still unfolding across
the Florida Big Bend region. Remain well guarded against locally
hazardous flood waters having additional limited impacts.

* WIND:
Potential impacts from the main wind event are now unfolding across
coastal areas of Apalachee Bay. Remain well sheltered from hazardous
wind having additional limited impacts. If realized,
these impacts include:
    - Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.
    - Scattered power and communications outages.

Elsewhere across the eastern Florida panhandle, Florida Big Bend,
southeastern Alabama and southwestern Georgia, little to no impact is
anticipated.

* TORNADOES:
Potential impacts from tornadoes are still unfolding across the Florida
Big Bend Region. Remain well braced against a tornado event having
possible limited impacts. If realized, these impacts
include:
    - A few places may experience tornado damage, along with power
      and communications disruptions.

Elsewhere across eastern Florida panhandle, Florida Big Bend,
southeastern Alabama and southwestern Georgia, little to no impact is
anticipated.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

* EVACUATIONS:
No large-scale evacuations are in place.

* OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:
Keep your cell phone charged and in power-saving mode. If you lose
power, use it sparingly and mainly for personal emergencies and
check-ins.

If a tornado warning is issued for your area, quickly move to the
safest place within your shelter. Protect your head and body.
