SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

At 1000 AM EST, the center of Tropical Storm Eta was located about 40
miles west-southwest of the Dry Tortugas. Eta will continue to the
southwest today and tonight with some reduction in forward speed.
Little overall motion is forecast on Tuesday and a slow northward
motion is expected on Wednesday.

Southeast to south breezes will remain strong through the afternoon
across the Florida Keys. Remaining impacts will include coastal
flooding, especially across the Upper Keys as water levels slowly
subside. Tropical storm force wind gusts will be common in thundery
squalls.

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with localized totals near
6 inches will be possible across the Keys today. This may aggravate
saltwater flooding, and also cause minor flooding in areas not impacted
by saltwater inundation.

Isolated tornadoes will be possible as Eta moves away from the Keys,
although the threat will steadily diminish.

All state parks in the Florida Keys are closed through today. The
Snake Creek Drawbridge may be reactivated this afternoon. The reopening
of Key West International Airport and Marathon Airport will be arranged
by this afternoon. Monroe County schools will be closed and virtual
classes are cancelled today. Monroe County offices and city offices for
Key West, Islamorada and Layton are closed today.
