* CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - None

* CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Coastal Hancock and
      Coastal Washington

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 430 miles south-southwest of Bar Harbor ME or about 480
      miles south-southwest of Eastport ME
    - 38.3N 70.2W
    - Storm Intensity 90 mph
    - Movement Northeast or 45 degrees at 25 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

Hurricane Dorian will pass south of the Gulf of Maine on Saturday
morning. It will then move quickly to the northeast during the day and
track into Nova Scotia Saturday evening. Strong winds and high surf
will be the biggest impact from the storm. The most likely timeframe
for the strong winds will be around midday Saturday through the late
afternoon hours, before diminishing in the evening. A Tropical Storm
Warning remains in effect for coastal Hancock and Washington counties.

Northeast winds will range from 25 to 35 mph during the afternoon with
gusts of 45 to 60 mph. Winds will shift around to the north in the
afternoon and begin to diminish in the evening hours.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS
-----------------

* WIND:
Protect against hazardous wind having possible limited impacts across
coastal Downeast. Potential impacts in this area include:
    - Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored
      mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.
    - Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or
      uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees are
      shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown over.
    - A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within urban
      or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving conditions on
      bridges and other elevated roadways.
    - Scattered power and communications outages.

Elsewhere across Eastern and Northern Maine, little to no impact is
anticipated.

* FLOODING RAIN:
Protect against locally hazardous rainfall flooding having possible
limited impacts across Washington County. Potential impacts include:

    - Rivers and tributaries may quickly rise with swifter currents.
      Small streams, creeks, canals, and ditches may become swollen
      and overflow in spots.
    - Flood waters can enter a few structures, especially in usually
      vulnerable spots. A few places where rapid ponding of water
      occurs at underpasses, low-lying spots, and poor drainage
      areas. Several storm drains and retention ponds become
      near-full and begin to overflow. Some brief road and bridge
      closures.

Elsewhere across Eastern and Northern Maine, little to no impact is
anticipated.

* OTHER COASTAL HAZARDS:
High dangerous surf and strong rip currents are expected Saturday
morning into the evening hours. Heed all posted warnings from local
officials and stay away from rock outcroppings along the shoreline.
Minor coastal erosion is possible along with splash over during the
Saturday evening high tide.

safe location before the onset of strong winds or possible flooding.

Closely monitor weather.gov, NOAA Weather radio or local news outlets
for official storm information. Be ready to adapt to possible changes
to the forecast. Ensure you have multiple ways to receive weather
warnings.
