**HURRRICANE NATE BOOKING TOWARD THE CENTRAL GULF OF MEXICO**

* CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - None

* CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS:
    - A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Iberia, Lafayette,
      Lower St. Martin, St. Mary, Upper St. Martin, and Vermilion

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 600 miles southeast of Cameron LA or about 520 miles
      southeast of Morgan City LA
    - 23.5N 86.5W
    - Storm Intensity 80 mph
    - Movement North-northwest or 340 degrees at 22 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

As of 1 AM CDT, Hurricane Nate had moved into the southern Gulf of Mexico
and was moving north-northwest near 22 mph. This motion is expected to
continue today with a turn to the north northeast on Sunday. The storm is
expected to make landfall potentially along the southeast Louisiana coast
late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS
-----------------

* WIND:
Prepare for hazardous wind having possible limited impacts across South
Central Louisiana. Potential impacts in this area include:
    - Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored
      mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.
    - Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or
      uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees are
      shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown over.
    - A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within urban
      or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving conditions on
      bridges and other elevated roadways.
    - Scattered power and communications outages.

Elsewhere across SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA AND SOUTHEAST TEXAS, little to
no impact is anticipated.
