SITUATION OVERVIEW

TROPICAL STORM CINDY HAS MADE LANDFALL IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA AND WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE FURTHER INLAND TODAY. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL
WILL CONTINUE TODAY MAINLY EAST OF I-45. MINOR COASTAL FLOODING IMPACTS
WILL CONTINUE EARLY THIS MORNING ALONG THE BOLIVAR PENINSULA AND
ACROSS PORTIONS OF GALVESTON ISLAND. WATER LEVELS WILL RECEDE LATE THIS
MORNING.
POTENTIAL IMPACTS

* FLOODING RAIN:
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL IS STILL A POSSIBILITY GENERALLY ALONG AND EAST OF
I-45 TODAY. IN THIS AREA AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES IS EXPECTED WITH LOCALLY
HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.
* SURGE:
INUNDATION OF UP TO 1 FOOT WILL CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS ACROSS LOW
SPOTS ON THE BOLIVAR PENINSULA AND ACROSS GALVESTON ISLAND.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

* EVACUATIONS:
A VOLUNTARY EVACUATION REMAINS IN PLACE FOR THOSE WITH MEDICAL AND OTHER SPECIAL
NEEDS FOR THE BOLIVAR PENINSULA. THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF LIMITED SERVICES
AVAILABLE FOR THOSE ALONG THE BOLIVAR PENINSULA THIS MORNING DUE TO FLOODING
ALONG HIGHWAY 87.
