SITUATION OVERVIEW

TROPICAL STORM HERMINE WILL MOVE ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA
OVERNIGHT. PERIODS OF LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE RAIN WILL
CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS...BUT WILL COME TO AN END BY
AROUND SUNRISE.
THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELED...ALTHOUGH PONDING OF WATER IN
LOW-LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS WILL CONTINUE FOR SEVERAL MORE
HOURS. THE TORNADO WATCH HAS ALSO BEEN CANCELED.
SURF CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS EARLY SATURDAY...BUT GRADUALLY
IMPROVE THROUGH THE DAY.
POTENTIAL IMPACTS

* FLOODING RAIN:
ALTHOUGH THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL HAS COME TO AN END...RESIDUAL FLOODING
IS EXPECTED AS RUNOFF POOLS ACROSS LOW-LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.
DRIVING CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS OVERNIGHT AND EARLY SATURDAY.
* WIND:
WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO DIMINISH ACROSS THE AREA WITH LESSENING IMPACTS
EXPECTED. ISOLATED TREES MAY BECOME UPROOTED. ADDITIONAL ISOLATED POWER
OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE.
* SURGE:
IMPACTS FROM MINOR STORM SURGE WILL COME TO AN END AS WINDS BECOME OFFSHORE.
