AT 5 PM HST...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM DARBY WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 19.3N...LONGITUDE 155.8W...OR ABOUT 25 MILES SOUTH-
SOUTHEAST OF KAILUA-KONA...OR ABOUT 195 MILES SOUTHEAST OF HONOLULU.
TROPICAL STORM DARBY IS MOVING WEST AT 10 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MPH.
.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM DARBY WILL MOVE OFF THE LEEWARD SIDE
OF THE BIG ISLAND THIS EVENING AND OVER THE LEEWARD COASTAL WATERS
NEAR THE ISLANDS TONIGHT AND SUNDAY. DARBY WILL WEAKEN OVER THE
NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. HOWEVER...LOCALLY STRONG WINDS AND HEAVY RAIN
WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE IN ASSOCIATION WITH DARBY FOR A WHILE LONGER.

NEAR THE BIG ISLAND TONIGHT...SPREADING TO MAUI COUNTY OVERNIGHT...
AND THEN TO OAHU AND KAUAI ON SUNDAY. IF HEAVIER STORMS DEVELOP...
THEY COULD CAUSE SIGNIFICANT FLASH FLOODING. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL
AMOUNTS OF 8 TO 12 INCHES...WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS UP TO 15 INCHES
IN HIGHER TERRAIN...ARE POSSIBLE. SEE THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR MORE

LOCALIZED DAMAGING WINDS OF 30 TO 40 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED WITH
DARBY...ALONG WITH GUSTS OF 50 TO 60 MPH OR GREATER. THESE WINDS
ARE MOST LIKELY OVER MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN...THROUGH PASSES...
AND TO THE WEST OR SOUTHWEST OF THE MOUNTAINS WHERE WINDS WILL
BE BLOWING DOWNSLOPE.
LOOSE ITEMS...SUCH AS GARBAGE CANS AND OUTDOOR FURNITURE...WILL
BE BLOWN AROUND. NEWLY PLANTED OR YOUNG TREES AND SHRUBS MAY BE
UPROOTED IF NOT SECURED PROPERLY. ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES WILL BE
POSSIBLE.

15 TO 20 FEET TONIGHT AND LOWER TO 10 TO 15 FEET ON SUNDAY. SURF
ALONG EAST FACING SHORES OF KAUAI...OAHU...AND MOLOKAI WILL BE
10 TO 14 FEET TONIGHT AND LOWER TO 6 TO 9 FEET ON SUNDAY. SEE THE
