THE FORECAST TRACK BRINGS TROPICAL STORM HILDA/S TRACK FURTHER SOUTH
OF THE BIG ISLAND. HILDA IS FORECAST TO CONTINUE TO WEAKEN AND
PROBABILITY FOR TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ON THE BIG ISLAND
CONTINUES TO LOWER.

A HIGH SURF WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF THE BIG
ISLAND THROUGH 6 AM HST THURSDAY.
A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF MAUI
THROUGH 6 AM HST THURSDAY.

AT 5 PM HST...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM HILDA WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 17.0N...LONGITUDE 152.2W...OR ABOUT 265 MILES SOUTHEAST
OF HILO HAWAII ABOUT 475 MILES SOUTHEAST OF HONOLULU HAWAII.
TROPICAL STORM HILDA IS MOVING WEST AT 5 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
WINDS ARE NEAR 65 MPH.
.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
SHEAR CONTINUES TO IMPACT TROPICAL STORM HILDA DUE TO STRONG WINDS
ALOFT IN THE SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT. HILDA IS EXPECTED TO SLOWLY
MOVE TOWARD THE WEST THROUGH FRIDAY. THE LATEST CENTRAL PACIFIC
HURRICANE CENTER FORECAST ESTIMATES THE CENTER OF HILDA WILL PASS
FURTHER SOUTH OF THE BIG ISLAND ON THURSDAY AS IT WEAKENS. HEAVY
RAIN WILL LIKELY BE THE GREATEST IMPACT FROM HILDA TO HAWAII.

ENTERING THE WATER VERY HAZARDOUS. ANYONE ENTERING THE WATER COULD
FACE SIGNIFICANT INJURY OR DEATH.
A HIGH SURF WARNING MEANS WAVES OF AT LEAST 15 FEET ARE EXPECTED
FOR THE WARNING AREA.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE AREA. REFER TO
THE WATCH FOR MORE DETAILS. HILDA IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE TOTAL
RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 12 INCHES WITH ISOLATED MAXIMUM
AMOUNTS OF 18 INCHES POSSIBLE ALONG THE WINDWARD SLOPES. THE
HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECT TO ARRIVE BEGINNING WEDNESDAY EVENING AND
CONTINUING THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT.
