KAHOOLAWE...MAUI...THE BIG ISLAND.
A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF
THE BIG ISLAND THROUGH 6 PM HST TODAY.

AT 5 AM HST...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM GUILLERMO WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 19.7N...LONGITUDE 148.5W...OR ABOUT 430 MILES EAST
OF HILO HAWAII AND ABOUT 620 MILES EAST OF HONOLULU. TROPICAL
STORM GUILLERMO IS MOVING NORTHWEST AT 12 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
WINDS ARE NEAR 70 MPH.

TROPICAL STORM GUILLERMO IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE MOVING TOWARD THE
NORTHWEST AT 12 MPH TODAY WITH A SHIFT TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST
EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. THE LATEST CENTRAL
PACIFIC HURRICANE CENTER FORECAST ESTIMATES THE CENTER OF
GUILLERMO WILL PASS APPROXIMATELY 215 MILES NORTHEAST OF HILO ON
THE BIG ISLAND WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...AND APPROXIMATELY 165 MILES
NORTH OF MAUI WEDNESDAY NIGHT. LITTLE CHANGE IN STRENGTH IS
EXPECTED TODAY...WITH SLOW AND STEADY WEAKENING ANTICIPATED
THEREAFTER.
WHILE THIS FORECAST TRACK KEEPS THE WORST WEATHER AWAY FROM THE
ISLANDS...ANY DEVIATION TO THE LEFT OF THE EXPECTED TRACK COULD
BRING TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS TO PORTIONS OF THE BIG ISLAND OR
MAUI. THUS A TROPICAL STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT AS A
PRECAUTION FOR THOSE AREAS.

ISLANDS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE IN
SOME AREAS...WITH ISOLATED MAXIMUM AMOUNTS TO 7 INCHES POSSIBLE
MAINLY IN HIGHER TERRAIN. RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL BE LOWER IF
GUILLERMO TRACKS FARTHER AWAY FROM THE ISLANDS THAN CURRENTLY
FORECAST.
