LATITUDE 38.5N...LONGITUDE 72.4W. THIS WAS ABOUT 230 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF NANTUCKET MA. STORM MOTION WAS NORTHEAST OR 45
DEGREES AT 25 MPH. STORM INTENSITY WAS 90 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
WHEN MAKING DECISIONS...DO NOT FOCUS ON THE EXACT FORECAST TRACK.
THE CENTER OF HURRICANE ARTHUR IS EXPECTED TO PASS WITHIN 50 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF NANTUCKET AND MAKE ITS CLOSEST APPROACH TO THE WATERS
THIS EVENING. WIND WILL BE THE MAIN CONCERN ACROSS THE COASTAL
WATERS AND IMMEDIATE COASTAL AREAS. HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE THE

THE IMPACT FROM COMBINED STORM SURGE AND TIDE WATERS IS EXPECTED
TO BE MINIMAL. THE MAIN THREATS FOR COASTAL AREAS WILL BE HIGH
SURF...RIP CURRENTS AND SOME BEACH EROSION. THE COMBINATION OF
HIGH SURF AND RIP CURRENTS WILL MAKE MANY BEACHES DANGEROUS LATER
TODAY AND TONIGHT. THESE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY TO
PERSIST INTO SATURDAY...DESPITE THE MUCH BETTER WEATHER.

RAINFALL OF 2 TO 4 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS UP TO
