THE MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE OF TROPICAL STORM ARTHUR HAS DROPPED
TO 996 MB. ARTHUR IS NOW MOVING NORTH AT 6 MPH.

BUOY 41010 120 MILES EAST OF NEW SMYRNA BEACH RECORDED SOUTHEAST
WINDS 41 KNOTS GUSTING TO 51 KNOTS WITH 17 FOOT SEAS AT 450 AM.

AT 5 AM EDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ARTHUR WAS LOCATED
NEAR LATITUDE 28.4N...LONGITUDE 79.1W. THIS WAS ABOUT 90 MILES
EAST OF CAPE CANAVERAL FL...OR ABOUT 100 MILES NORTHEAST OF FORT
PIERCE FL. STORM MOTION WAS NORTH AT 6 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS
WERE 60 MPH TO THE SOUTHEAST AND NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ARTHUR IS FORECAST TO MOVE NORTHWARD
OFFSHORE FROM BREVARD COUNTY THIS MORNING AND WELL OFFSHORE FROM
THE VOLUSIA COUNTY COAST THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. RAIN BANDS
WILL MOVE ONSHORE ALONG THE VOLUSIA AND BREVARD COUNTY COASTS INTO
MID DAY BRINGING THE CHANCE FOR LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF
ONE TO TWO INCHES WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS POSSIBLY REACHING 3 INCHES
IN A FEW SPOTS. ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND LIGHTNING STORMS WILL
DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF EAST CENTRAL
FLORIDA WITH SOME AREAS SEEING LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF
ONE TO TWO INCHES. GUSTY WINDS TO 30 TO 40 MPH WILL OCCUR WITH
SHOWERS...AND STRONGER WINDS MAY DEVELOP WITH ANY STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP LATER TODAY. SUSTAINED WINDS WILL REACH
AROUND 20 MPH ALONG THE VOLUSIA AND BREVARD COUNTY BEACHES WITH
HIGHER GUSTS AT TIMES. OTHERWISE...EXPECT BREEZY CONDITIONS TO
DEVELOP ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA COASTAL AREAS
TODAY.

BUILDING SURF AND A MODERATE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS WILL BE A
HAZARD AT EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA BEACHES MAKING FOR UNSAFE SWIMMING
CONDITIONS. PASSING SQUALLS WITH STRONG WIND GUSTS WILL ALSO CAUSE
LOOSE AND LIGHTER WEIGHT BEACH OBJECTS TO BLOW ABOUT.

ACROSS THE ATLANTIC WATERS...TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS WILL OCCUR
OFFSHORE WITH SEAS BUILDING TO 12 TO 16 FT OFFSHORE TODAY AND
SLOWLY DIMINISHING BY LATE TONIGHT. SMALL CRAFT SHOULD REMAIN IN
PORT IN THE TROPICAL STORM WARNING AREA NORTH OF SEBASTIAN INLET.

COAST TODAY...IT IS FORECAST TO STRENGTHEN...AND CONDITIONS WILL
REMAIN WINDY NEAR THE IMMEDIATE COAST. WHILE THE LATEST FORECAST
KEEPS SUSTAINED WINDS BELOW TROPICAL STORM FORCE...SQUALL BANDS
WILL PRODUCE TROPICAL STORM FORCE WIND GUSTS OF 40 MPH...AND
POSSIBLY STRONGER IF THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP.

...INLAND FLOODING...
RAIN BANDS WILL BRING PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN ACCUMULATING 1 TO 2
INCHES CLOSE TO THE COAST WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO 3 INCHES
