AT MIDNIGHT CDT...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE ISAAC WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 29.0N...LONGITUDE 90.0W. THIS WAS ABOUT 150 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
MOBILE AL...OR ABOUT 180 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF PENSACOLA FL. STORM
MOTION WAS WNW OR 290 DEGREES AT 7 MPH. STORM INTENSITY WAS 80 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...

SUSTAINED TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS ARE OCCURRING ALONG THE
IMMEDIATE COASTS OF ALABAMA AND THE NORTHWEST FLORIDA PANHANDLE WITH
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WIND GUSTS EXTENDING INTO BOTH INTERIOR
SOUTHWESTERN ALABAMA AND SOUTHEASTERN MISSISSIPPI.

SQUALLS AND VERY HEAVY RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH THE HURRICANE WILL AFFECT
THE AREA THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT. WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINFALL AMOUNTS
ARE FORECAST TO ACCOMPANY THIS SYSTEM. STORM TOTALS OF 5 TO 10 INCHES
ARE EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI AND SOUTHWESTERN ALABAMA...
WITH 12 INCHES LOCALLY. RAINFALL TOTALS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED
FURTHER EAST ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL ALABAMA AND THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE.

TORNADOES EMBEDDED IN THE OUTER RAINS BANDS MAY OCCUR OVERNIGHT. A
TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF THE AREA. THE MOTION WILL
BE FROM EAST TO WEST...SHIFTING TO A MORE SOUTHEAST TO NORTHWEST
MOTION LATER IN THE PERIOD.

SEAS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS ARE NOW AS HIGH AS 17 TO 22 FEET...WITH
BREAKERS AT THE BEACHES AS HIGH AS 8 TO 13 FEET.

AS WITH ALL TROPICAL SYSTEMS...THE RIP CURRENT RISK WILL REMAIN AT
HIGH LEVELS FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.
