FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...
THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL
STORM ISAAC...LOCATED ABOUT 185 MILES WEST-SOUTH OF FORT MYERS
FLORIDA.
A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT 1050 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST
OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS IS PRODUCING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO
THE NORTH OF THE CENTER. UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BECOME
LESS FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT DURING THE NEXT DAY OR TWO AS THE LOW
MOVES WEST-NORTHWESTWARD TO NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH. THIS
SYSTEM HAS A MEDIUM CHANCE...30 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL
CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
A TROPICAL WAVE BETWEEN THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS AND THE WEST COAST OF
AFRICA IS PRODUCING DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ARE CONDUCIVE FOR SOME GRADUAL DEVELOPMENT
OF THIS DISTURBANCE DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THIS SYSTEM
HAS A LOW CHANCE...10 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE
DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.
ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.
