AT 2 AM EDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ISAAC WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 24.8N...LONGITUDE 83.5W. THIS WAS ABOUT 110 MILES WEST
OF KEY WEST FL. STORM MOTION WAS WNW OR 300 DEGREES AT 14 MPH.
STORM INTENSITY WAS 65 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
TROPICAL STORM ISAAC IS MOVING OVER THE EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN GULF OF
MEXICO THIS MORNING...AND IS EXPECTED TO INTENSIFY AS IT MOVES
NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO. TROPICAL STORM
CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST ACROSS THE FLORIDA KEYS AND ADJACENT WATERS
EARLY THIS MORNING.

WHILE HURRICANE IMPACTS ARE NO LONGER EXPECTED IN THE FLORIDA KEYS...
A THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY EXISTS DUE TO SUSTAINED TROPICAL STORM
FORCE WINDS. FOR THOSE STILL UNDER A WARNING...CONTINUE TO IMPLEMENT
YOUR TROPICAL CYCLONE DISASTER PLAN SPECIFIC TO YOUR HOME OR
BUSINESS.

THE MONROE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE ADVISES THE PUBLIC TO STAY OFF
THE ROADWAYS EARLY THIS MORNING. MANY MOTORISTS HAVE FOUND
THEMSELVES STRANDED AFTER DRIVING THROUGH WATER DEEPER THAN THEY
REALIZED. DRIVING THROUGH RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS THAT MIGHT BE
INUNDATED WITH WATER CAN CAUSE A WAKE THAT CAN WASH INTO YARDS AND
HOMES. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL MAY CAUSE PERIODIC FLOODING OF ROADWAYS IN
ALL OF THE FLORIDA KEYS.

WITHOUT OBSTRUCTIONS. UTILITY COMPANIES...INCLUDING ELECTRICITY AND
WATER...ARE OPERATING AT NORMAL LEVELS.

ALL FEDERAL...STATE...COUNTY...AND MUNICIPAL PARKS AND BEACHES ARE
CLOSED.

ALL COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL OFFICES AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED TO
EVERYONE TODAY. SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED TO STUDENTS TUESDAY. COUNTY

100 PERCENT.

...STORM SURGE AND STORM TIDE...
PERSISTENT TROPICAL STORM-FORCE WINDS FROM THE SOUTHEAST AND
SOUTH ARE PILING UP WATER NEARSHORE...AND MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC
RECENTLY HAVE REPORTED OVERWASH AND STREET FLOODING IN LOW-LYING
AREAS ALONG SOUTH-FACING SHORES. COASTAL FLOODING LIKELY WILL PEAK
AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE THIS MORNING...BETWEEN 500 AM AND
800 AM...WITH WATER LEVELS GRADUALLY SUBSIDING BY MIDDAY.

THE NEXT HIGH TIDE AT WHALE HARBOR CHANNEL IS AT 542 AM.

THE NEXT HIGH TIDE AT BOOT KEY HARBOR BRIDGE IS AT 544 AM.

THE NEXT HIGH TIDE AT KEY WEST HARBOR IS AT 647 AM.

...WINDS...
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS WILL PERSIST ACROSS THE FLORIDA KEYS THIS
MORNING. POTENTIALLY DAMAGING WIND GUSTS OF 50 TO 60 MPH ARE
POSSIBLE WITHIN PASSING VIOLENT SQUALLS.

...WINDS AND SEAS...
FOR MARINE INTERESTS...TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS WILL PERSIST
ACROSS FLORIDA KEYS COASTAL WATERS THIS MORNING. NEARSHORE WATERS
WILL BE EXTREMELY ROUGH. SEAS IN DEEP WATER WITHIN THE STRAITS OF
FLORIDA AND EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN GULF OF MEXICO WILL BE 15 TO
20 FEET.

...RAINFALL IMPACTS...
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL TOTALS OF 2 TO 5 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE
FLORIDA KEYS EARLY THIS MORNING. EXPECT FLOODING AND STANDING
WATER IN LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS THROUGH TODAY...AS
WELL AS MODERATE FLOODING OF SECONDARY ROADS.
