NORTHEAST PORTION OF ATLANTIC OUTER WATERS.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF PUERTO RICO AND
THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS. PLEASE LISTEN CLOSELY FOR ANY FLOOD
WARNINGS THAT MIGHT BE IN EFFECT FOR YOUR AREA.

AT 5 AM AST...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM MARIA WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 19.0N...LONGITUDE 63.7W. THIS WAS ABOUT 160 MILES EAST-
NORTHEAST OF SAN JUAN PR...OR ABOUT 90 MILES EAST-NORTHEAST OF
SAINT THOMAS VI. STORM MOTION WAS NW OR 315 DEGREES AT 11 KNOTS.
STORM INTENSITY WAS 60 MPH.
.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
TROPICAL STORM MARIA WAS NORTH OF THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS
AND WILL TRACK NORTHWEST AT 11 KNOTS OR LESS OVER THE NEXT 12
HOURS. ON THIS TRACK...THE CORE OF MARIA WILL MOVE ACROSS THE
ATLANTIC WATERS NORTH OF ANEGADA ISLAND THIS MORNING AND TO THE
NORTH OF LATITUDE 20 NORTH TONIGHT. AT THIS TIME THE STRONGEST
WINDS ARE ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY IN THE NORTHEAST QUADRANT OF THE
STORM. THEREFORE STORM FORCE WINDS ARE LIKELY ONLY IN THE EXTREME
NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE ATLANTIC OUTER WATERS OF ZONE 710. A NOAA
RECONNAISSANCE PLANE WILL INVESTIGATE THE STORM AT ABOUT 10 AM AST.
