AT 6 AM CDT...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM LEE WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 29.6N...LONGITUDE 92.5W. THIS WAS ABOUT 270 MILES
WEST-SOUTHWEST OF MOBILE AL. STORM MOTION WAS N OR 360 DEGREES AT
2 MPH. STORM INTENSITY WAS 45 MPH.
.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS...OCCASIONALLY FORMING SHORT LINES AND
BANDS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE RAPIDLY NORTH ACROSS THE AREA. ISOLATED
TORNADOES ALONG WITH BRIEF PERIODS OF VERY HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH THE DAY. AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4 INCHES OR RAIN POSSIBLE TODAY.
DOPPLER RADAR AND GROUND OBSERVATIONS INDICATE THAT RAINFALL TOTALS
OF 6 TO 10 INCHES HAVE ALREADY OCCURRED ACROSS THE SOUTHERN HALF OF MOBILE
COUNTY AND COASTAL BALDWIN COUNTY WITH 4 TO 7 INCHES NORTH OF THE
INTERSTATE 10 CORRIDOR...INCLUDING A LARGE PORTION OF INLAND
SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI. 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 10 ACROSS THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE. PERIODS OF ADDITIONAL
HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED THROUGH MONDAY...STORM TOTALS OF 10 TO 15
INCHES ARE LIKELY...ESPECIALLY OVER THE COASTAL ZONES. THE THREAT
FOR ISOLATED FLASH FLOODING WILL CONTINUE...SEVERAL AREA RIVERS ARE
FORECAST TO REACH MINOR OR MODERATE FLOODING STAGE. PLEASE REFER TO
RIVER FLOOD WARNINGS FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS.
LIFE THREATENING RIP CURRENTS AND BREAKING WAVES IN THE SURF ZONE IN
THE GENERAL RANGE OF 7 TO 10 FEET ARE EXPECTED THROUGH MONDAY. STORM
SURGE HEIGHTS OF 1 TO 3 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL ARE FORECAST...
RESULTING IN MINOR FLOODING OVER ROADWAYS ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST
AND ALONG BAYS AND SOUNDS. THE MOBILE BAY CAUSEWAY...THE APPROACHES
TO THE DAUPHIN ISLAND BRIDGE...AND FORT PICKENS IN THE WESTERN FLORIDA
PANHANDLE ARE A FEW AREAS THAT ARE PRONE TO COASTAL FLOODING. THE
MOST LIKELY TIME FRAME FOR COASTAL FLOODING WILL BE EARLY THIS
MORNING AND MONDAY MORNINGS...COINCIDING WITH THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE.
THE SOUTHBOUND LANE OF HIGHWAY 163 JUST NORTH OF DOG RIVER BRIDGE IN
MOBILE COUNTY HAS ALREADY BEEN CLOSED.

NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE
FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE
ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN
