FOR PEOPLE ON KOROR AND KAYANGEL IN THE REPUBLIC OF PALAU AND NGULU
IN YAP STATE.

A TROPICAL STORM WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR KOROR AND KAYANGEL IN
PALAU AND FOR NGULU IN YAP STATE. TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS OF 40
MPH OR GREATER ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN 48 HOURS.

AT 700 PM CHST...0900Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM 27W WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 6.0 DEGREES NORTH AND LONGITUDE 144.1 DEGREES
EAST. THIS IS ABOUT 475 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF YAP
480 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF NGULU
660 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF KAYANGEL AND
TROPICAL DEPRESSION 27W IS MOVING WEST AT 18 MPH. 27W IS EXPECTED TO
GRADUALLY TURN TO THE WEST-NORTHWEST WITH LITTLE CHANGE IN FORWARD
SPEED DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS. THIS TRACK WILL BRING THE CENTER OF
27W VERY CLOSE TO KOROR EARLY THURSDAY MORNING.

POSSIBLE THURSDAY AS THE STORM PASSES SOUTH OF NGULU AND JUST TO THE
SOUTH OR CLOSE TO THE ISLAND OF BABELDAOB IN PALAU. AS THE
DEPRESSION IS STILL IN ITS FORMATIVE STAGES THE FORECAST TRACK AND
PREDICTED WINDS COULD CHANGE AS THE SYSTEM MOVES WESTWARD.

HAZARDOUS SURF HEIGHTS OF 10 TO 12 FEET ARE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY
ALONG NORTH AND EAST FACING REEFS THURSDAY. STORM SURGE OF 1 TO 3
FEET ABOVE HIGH TIDE IS POSSIBLE BY THURSDAY MORNING.

HEAVY SHOWERS AND SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL PRODUCE HEAVY RAIN
WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT...WITH 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN
