STORM INFORMATION UPDATED FOR THE 11 AM ADVISORY. TROPICAL STORM
WARNINGS DISCONTINUED FOR THE ATLANTIC WATERS SOUTH OF SEBASTIAN
INLET.

THIS LOCAL STATEMENT PROVIDES IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE
AND MARINE INTERESTS ACROSS THE ATLANTIC WATERS NORTH OF SEBASTIAN
INLET AND ALONG THE COAST OF VOLUSIA AND BREVARD COUNTIES.

.WATCHES/WARNINGS...
A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE ATLANTIC WATERS
FROM FLAGLER BEACH TO SEBASTIAN INLET TO 60 NAUTICAL MILES OFFSHORE.

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM SEBASTIAN INLET TO
JUPITER INLET TO 60 NAUTICAL MILES OFFSHORE. SMALL CRAFT SHOULD
REMAIN IN PORT TODAY UNTIL WINDS AND SEAS SUBSIDE.

.STORM INFORMATION...
AT 11 AM EDT...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE IRENE WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 30.7 NORTH...LONGITUDE 77.3 WEST. THIS WAS ABOUT 250 MILES
NORTHEAST OF CAPE CANAVERAL FL...OR ABOUT 290 MILES NORTHEAST OF
FORT PIERCE FL. STORM MOTION WAS NORTH AT 14 MPH. MAXIMUM
SUSTAINED WINDS WERE 105 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
HURRICANE IRENE IS MOVING NORTHWARD ACROSS THE ATLANTIC WATERS
WELL OFFSHORE FROM THE GEORGIA COAST. AS IRENE MOVES AWAY...WINDS
WILL DROP TO 20 TO 30 KNOTS SOUTH OF SEBASTIAN INLET BUT REMAIN
STRONGER FROM 25 TO 35 KNOTS ACROSS THE WATERS NORTH OF SEBASTIAN
INLET WHERE A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT. IT IS
RECOMMENDED FOR SMALL CRAFT TO REMAIN IN PORT TODAY UNTIL WINDS
AND SEAS SUBSIDE.

ACROSS COASTAL VOLUSIA AND BREVARD COUNTIES...A WIND ADVISORY
REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM. NORTHWEST TO WEST WINDS NEAR 25 MPH
ARE EXPECTED WITH GUSTS TO 30 TO 35 MPH POSSIBLE INTO LATE
AFTERNOON. A LOCAL OUTER SHOWER BAND MAY ALSO BRING WIND GUSTS UP
TO 40 MPH TODAY. FOR THE COASTAL COUNTIES...A HIGH SURF ADVISORY
AND COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR MOST OF THE
DAY.

WATERS NORTH OF SEBASTIAN INLET INTO MID AFTERNOON. WITH TROPICAL
STORM FORCE GUSTS TO 35 KNOTS CONTINUING ACROSS THE NEAR SHORE
ATLANTIC WATERS.  SEAS ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY DECLINE..BUT
STILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS TO 20 FEET OFFSHORE AND 12 TO 15 FEET NEAR
SHORE. SMALL CRAFT OPERATORS SHOULD REMAIN IN PORT TODAY.
