AT 11 PM EDT...THE CENTER OF HURRICANE IRENE WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 28.3N...LONGITUDE 77.3W. THIS WAS ABOUT 200 MILES
EAST-NORTHEAST OF WEST PALM BEACH FL. STORM MOTION WAS NORTH OR
350 DEGREES AT 14 MPH. STORM INTENSITY WAS 115 MPH.
.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
MAJOR HURRICANE IRENE...CURRENTLY JUST NORTH OF THE BAHAMAS...WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE AWAY FROM SOUTHEAST FLORIDA COAST OVERNIGHT.
THE MAIN CONCERN WITH HURRICANE IRENE IS A CONTINUATION OF SUSTAINED
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS AND HAZARDOUS SEAS ACROSS THE OFFSHORE
WATERS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY EXTENDING FROM 20 NAUTICAL MILES OUT TO
THE TERRITORIAL WATERS OF THE BAHAMAS.
DANGEROUS SURF...RIP CURRENTS AND MODERATE TO SEVERE BEACH
EROSION...PARTICULARLY ALONG COASTAL PALM BEACH COUNTY BEACHES
